I do beleive the latest thinking out of the U.N. and elsewhere, is that the economy is a clear subset of society. And society a subset of the environment. N.Z. has adaopted this as a &#039;strong model&#039; for sustainability. check here: http://www.pce.govt.nz/projects/topic4.shtml
