3 spheres coming soon on youtube: da speech

3 spheres mental map for sustainability thinking

Yours truly will reprise my new stump speech this Tuesday for the Kauai County Council. You know: the story of the 3 spheres. (Right, it was supposed to be last Wednesday, but our wind storm denied power to the Council Chambers…a first since Hurricane Iniki!)

JoAnn Yukimura was excited to hear it at the LEGS conference, and immediately suggested doing the same presentation for the Council…and now it’s set.

I’m humbled and honored, and will do my best to inspire our local political leaders toward a more forward-looking strategic approach to our island’s sustainability challenges.

I’m also delighted that this presentation will be shown on Ho`ike, our public access channel, later in the week.

This will be the 4th practice session for da speech; I’ve also made essentially the same presentation to the Filipino Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay.

Oh, and, Col. Howard Killian at the Army’s O`ahu Environmental Directorate saw the speech pdf online and passed it along to his staff. Kewl.

With a little help from friends, some version of this video may soon make it onto YouTube. Yeah!

This is important to me because I’ve worked hard to get the graphics and text working together. So, it really needs to be seen live, methinks. And, at just over 20 minutes, mebbe plenny folks will actually watch it.

I do beleive the latest thinking out of the U.N. and elsewhere, is that the economy is a clear subset of society. And society a subset of the environment. N.Z. has adaopted this as a ’strong model’ for sustainability. check here: http://www.pce.govt.nz/projects/topic4.shtml

Righto! Nothing new here. Just another way of presenting the concept of reciprocal dynamics.
