We're
sharing what we know about the economy, ecology, and society of the
Hawaiian islands...
Help yourself to the free
information resources on our site, including demographic data,
market analysis, 'green' commentary and watershed maps. Purchase our
popular island
ahupua`a posters showing ancient lands on each island, or get our book
about forging a more sustainable Kaua`i.
...and we're learning more.
Founded at the turn of the
century, The Kauaian Institute (TKI) serves islanders
interested in helping craft a more
sustainable future for Hawai`i.
TKI's purpose is primarily
educational: To gather, analyze, and present objective information on
important social, economic, and ecological aspects of life in
the islands.
Typically TKI will
deal with demographic, financial, land use and environmental data from
public sources, as well as maps from our extensive collection of GIS
data.
TKI seeks to be a unifying
force by sharing information that affects all islanders and by engaging
those who deeply care about these small islands in the sea.
